HOOD SUPPORT INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Install the hood support while holding the hood.

Note


  • Do not touch the extendable portion of the rod to prevent foreign objects from attaching to the hood support surface.

  • Do not push the hood support sideways because the hood support may bend.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT BRACKET LH


    1. Install the hood support bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL HOOD STAY BRACKET LH


    1. Install the hood stay bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:

    Remove the hood support while holding the hood.


    1. When reusing a hood support:

      Install the 2 stop rings to the hood support.

    2. Attach the 2 ball joints to install the hood support.

    3. Check that the hood support is connected to the ball joint and cannot be pulled off.
