POWER TRUNK LID SYSTEM Power Trunk Lid does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) continuously monitors the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly. When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is OFF, a luggage door opening switch signal is sent to the luggage closer motor assembly from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication. This actuates the power trunk opener operation, which opens the luggage compartment door. When the door control switch is on, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk closer operation. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held, and the luggage electrical key switch is on or the luggage door open switch on electrical key transmitter sub-assembly switch is pressed, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk lid opener operation.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • When using the GTS with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:

Connect the GTS to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-seconds intervals until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service BUlletin.

Tech Tips

Since the power door lock control system has functions that use LIN communication system and CAN communication system, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication system by inspecting the LIN communication and CAN communication functions in accordance with the "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting" procedures. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.
