LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM Luggage Compartment Door Closer does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The luggage compartment door closer is controlled by the luggage closer motor assembly. The closer motor is activated according to the switch signals in the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

      Disconnect the luggage closer motor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U33-10 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      U33-12 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      U33-8 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the luggage compartment door lock assembly Click here.

    2. Set the luggage compartment door lock assembly to the half-latch position.

    3. Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the closer operation.

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (M+)

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (M-)

      Luggage compartment door lock half-latch → full latch
    4. Set the luggage compartment door lock assembly to the full latch position.

    5. Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the open operation.

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (M+)

      Luggage compartment door lock full latch → open latch

    1. Disconnect the U33 luggage closer motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the a9 luggage compartment door lock connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the N12 main body ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the a4 luggage compartment door lock cylinder connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      a4-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
