REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)

    Note


    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

    • If the side airbag has deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly, bench type rear seatback cover and bench type rear seatback pad with new ones.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

    1. Quickly lift up the front of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration to detach the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

      Standard Measurement
      a 100 mm (3.94 in.) or less

      Note

      If the cushion is not lifted up quickly, the cushion frame will be damaged.


      1. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then quickly lift the bench type seat cushion assembly to detach the hook.

      2. Repeat the step above for the other hook.

    2. Detach the 2 rear hooks of the bench type rear seat cushion assembly from the bench type rear seatback assembly.

      w/ Seat Heater System:

      Disconnect the 2 seat cushion heater connectors.

    4. Remove the bench type rear seat cushion assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the rear seat center headrest assembly.

  6. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolts and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly RH.

    2. Remove the bolts and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly LH.

    3. Disconnect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH connector.

    4. Remove the bolts and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws to open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips


      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      • Use the same procedure to open the 2 caps on the other side.

    6. Disconnect the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly from the shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to disconnect the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly on the other side.

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw to open the cap of the rear center seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    8. Disconnect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH from the rear center seat shoulder belt guide.

      Disconnect the 2 rear seat airbag connectors.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA (at this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet).

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

        Note

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting.

      3. After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the white housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

      Disconnect the rear seat wire RH connector.

    11. A01FHQI

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    12. Lift the seatback assembly to detach the 2 hooks, and then remove the bench type rear seatback assembly.

      Note


      • 2 or more people are required when carrying the bench type rear seatback assembly out of the vehicle.

      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      Tech Tips

      This procedure is easier to perform if the front luggage compartment trim cover is removed beforehand, as the rear seat center armrest box bezel will not get caught on it Click here.

  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

      Note

      Rear seat cushion lock hooks must not be reused.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HOLDER

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seatback holders.
