PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1A11, C1A14

DTC Code DTC Name
C1A11 Front Radar Sensor Incorrect Axial Gap
C1A14 Front Radar Sensor Beam Axis Not Adjusted

DESCRIPTION

When the vehicle is determined to be moving in a straight line according to the signal from the yaw rate sensor, the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly performs a self-diagnosis to check whether its beam axis is misaligned. When it is determined that the vehicle in front is off to the side for a long period of time (10 hours at approximately 50 km/h [31 mph]), the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly determines that its beam axis is misaligned and DTC C1A11 is stored. Also, if the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is installed at an angle with respect to the vehicle, the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly makes the same determination. After a new millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is installed, if the millimeter wave radar sensor beam axis adjustment is not performed, DTC C1A14 is stored.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1A11 When the engine switch is on (IG), a misalignment of the millimeter wave radar sensor beam axis is detected for 2 seconds or more.
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU

C1A14 When the vehicle is being driven at 10 km/h (6 mph) or more, the state in which the millimeter wave radar sensor adjustment has not been performed is detected for 2 seconds or more.
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly

  • Driving support ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. ADJUST FRONT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR

    1. Check that the bracket of the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is not deformed.

      Tech Tips

If the bracket is deformed, replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.

    2. Adjust the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly Click here.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC (PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM)

    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
DTC C1A11 or C1A14 is not output.

      Note

When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Click here. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.
