DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU uses the millimeter wave radar sensor to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle. Based on this information, the driving support ECU sends pre-crash safety control operation signals.

When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, it acquires the country specification information from the driving support ECU. Also, when the driving support ECU is replaced with a new one, it receives country specification information from the main body ECU. When country specification information in the sensor, ECU and/or main body ECU do not match, DTC C1A0A is stored.

C1A0A While the initial check is running, the engine switch is on (IG) and the pre-crash safety system is operating, the country specification information in the driving support ECU and the millimeter wave radar sensor do not match for 2 seconds or more.

      Tech Tips

      The country specification information stored in the driving support ECU is determined by the country specification information stored in the main body ECU. If the country specification information for the millimeter wave radar sensor matches the vehicle, the country specification information for the main body ECU and driving support ECU is incorrect and the main body ECU and driving support ECU need to be replaced.

      Note

      When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Click here. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.
