AIRBAG CUT-OFF SWITCH REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for the front passenger side of RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedures listed below are for the front passenger side of an LHD vehicle.


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

    *1 Protective Tape

    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel RH.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.

    3. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Disconnect the connector.

  4. REMOVE AIRBAG CUT OFF SWITCH CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the airbag cut off switch cylinder sub-assembly.
