The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to the entry and start system (for Entry Function) precaution Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (ENGINE SWITCH)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test Click here.

      Engine switch illumination illuminates.

  2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH


    1. for 2GR-FSE


      1. Remove the engine switch Click here.

      2. Inspect the engine switch Click here.

    2. for 4GR-FSE


      1. Remove the engine switch Click here.

      2. Inspect the engine switch Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU])


    1. Disconnect the N43 engine switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the N93 certification ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N43-9 (SWIL) - N93-16 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      N43-6 (AGND) - N93-24 (AGND)
      N43-9 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N43-6 (AGND) - Body ground
