LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.

    Tech Tips

    When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the map light door switch is on.


    1. The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


      • Map light assembly (dome light)

      • Spot light assembly

      • Engine switch illumination

    2. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met:


      • The key is brought within any vehicle exterior detection area when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed.*

      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All the doors are closed when any door is opened and the engine switch is off.
      Lights fade out immediately

      When either of the following conditions is met:


      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all the doors are closed.

      • All the doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      • *: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  2. INSPECT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT AND DOOR ILLUMINATION CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.


    1. The interior foot light and door illumination control illuminates the lights below.


      • Front interior foot lights

      • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (rear interior foot light)

      • Front door inside handle illumination light assembly

      • Rear door inside handle illumination light assembly

      • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (front door ambient light)

      • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (rear door ambient light)

    2. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights fade in and illuminate constantly

      • Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.

      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG).
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met:


      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All the doors are closed when any door is opened and the engine switch is off.
      Lights fade out immediately All the doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

  3. INSPECT DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.


    1. The door mirror foot light control illuminates the door mirror foot lights.

    2. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met:


      • The key is brought within any vehicle exterior detection area when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed.*

      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.
      Lights fade out immediately All the doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      • *: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  4. INSPECT EXTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.


    1. The exterior light control illuminates the lights below.


      • Clearance lights

      • Taillights

      • License plate lights

    2. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When either of the following conditions is met:


      • Headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position and the doors are unlocked by a wireless unlock operation

      • Headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position and the doors are unlocked by an entry unlock operation

  5. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. Check that when any of the doors is ajar and the engine switch is off, all of the interior lights turn off within approximately 20 minutes.

      Tech Tips

      When the light control operation conditions are met, battery saving control is canceled.
