After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
| *A | for 2WD |
| *B | for AWD |
for 2WD:
Remove the 13 screws, 3 clips and engine under cover.
for AWD:
Remove the 10 screws, 3 clips and engine under cover.
REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER
Remove the 3 clips and clamp, then remove the No. 2 engine cover.
REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.
DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
Remove the 3 nuts (A) and disconnect the wire harness.
Disconnect the 2 connectors (B).
REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY
Remove the terminal cap.
Remove the nut and disconnect the generator wire.
Disconnect the generator connector, and detach the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the connector from the cooling fan ECU.
Remove the nut, and disconnect the bracket.
Remove the 2 bolts and generator.
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 brackets.
