INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

When replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly or the telematics transceiver, perform the vehicle contract setting.

  1. CONFIRM MODEL


    1. Check the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the N162 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the Y11 map light assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N162-27 (MIN+) - Y11-3 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      N162-48 (MIN-) - Y11-2 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      N162-29 (MACC) - Y11-4 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      N162-49 (SNS2) - Y11-1 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      N162-27 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N162-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N162-28 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N162-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals Y11-3 (MCO+) and Y11-2 (MCO-) of the map light assembly connector.

    3. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

  6. CHECK TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
