DESCRIPTION

The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU forms a network with the ECUs of other systems via CAN communication. Each ECU informs the other ECUs that it is connected to the network by sending a specified signal (periodic signal) onto the communication bus on a regular basis. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU receives vehicle speed signals from the combination meter assembly via the CAN communication bus to prevent improper operation of the auto away/return function while driving.

  • The vehicle speed signal is lost for 5 seconds or more and the auto away/return function is disabled.

*: If the engine switch is turned off immediately after the vehicle comes to a sudden stop, the last vehicle speed signal may not be 0 km/h (0 mph).

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (FREEZE SPEED INFO)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check the vehicle speed signal on the GTS. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Tilt & Telescopic / Data List.

      Tech Tips


      • A vehicle speed of 3 km/h (2 mph) or more may be displayed on the GTS immediately after the vehicle comes to a sudden stop. This is caused by a delay in vehicle signal received via CAN communication and is not a malfunction.

      • If the vehicle is suddenly stopped and the engine switch is immediately turned off, resulting in the last vehicle speed signal received by the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU to be 10 km/h (6 mph) or more, a vehicle speed malfunction DTC is stored.
