DYNAMIC REAR STEERING ACTUATOR INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Secure the tie rod end ball joint in a vise using aluminum plates.

      Note

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    2. Flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.

    3. A01FIFQ

      Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.

      Torque
      0.3 to 2.4 N*m (3 to 24 kgf*cm, 3 to 21 in.*lbf)

      If the turning torque is not as specified, replace the tie rod assembly with a new one.
