POWER STEERING ECU REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. Remove the nut and battery clamp.

      for LHD:

      Disconnect the 3 harness clamps and remove the battery insulator.

    4. A01FHKL

      for RHD:

      Disconnect the harness clamp and remove the battery insulator.

    5. Remove the battery.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 BATTERY TRAY SUPPORT


    1. Remove the No. 1 battery tray support.

  5. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. A01FDBY

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. A01FERL

      Disconnect the 3 connectors from the power steering ECU.

      Tech Tips

      Detach the 2 claws, press down the 2 levers, and then disconnect the 2 connectors.
