CHECK FOR DTC (USING THE GTS)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs by following the display on the GTS.
CHECK DTCs (USING SST CHECK WIRE)
Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
Note
Connect the terminals correctly to avoid a malfunction.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Read and write down any DTCs indicated by the power steering warning light on the combination meter.
Tech Tips
If normal, a 2 Hz blinking pattern repeats.
If there is only 1 DTC, the DTC will be output with a 4 second pause afterward. If there are several DTCs, the DTCs will be output with a 2.5 pause between each code. Once all of the DTCs are output, there is a 4.0 second pause and the DTCs are output again.
If two or more malfunctions are detected simultaneously, DTCs will be displayed in ascending numerical order.
Disconnect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
Note
If there is a malfunction, check for DTCs again after performing repairs and confirm that no DTCs are output.
CLEAR DTC (USING THE GTS)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes.
Clear the DTCs by following the display on the GTS.
CLEAR DTCs (USING SST CHECK WIRE)
Turn the engine switch off.
Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3, and also terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
Note
Connect the terminals correctly to avoid a malfunction.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Disconnect and reconnect terminal 13 (TC) of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.
Check that the power steering warning light blinks a code to indicate normality.
Turn the engine switch off.
Remove SST from the DLC3.
