ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR INSTALLATION


  1. APPLY HIGH-TEMPERATURE GREASE


    1. A01FGY1

      Apply a light coat of high-temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate which make contact with the shoe as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. for Type A:

      Install the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly with the 5 nuts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

    2. for Type B, C:

      Install the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      80 N*m  { 816 kgf*cm, 59 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the 6 parking brake cable support brackets with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

  5. INSTALL ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR CAP


    1. for Type A:

      Install the electric parking brake actuator cap with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    2. for Type B:


      1. Install the electric parking brake actuator cap with the 2 nuts.

        Torque:
        5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

      2. Install the cable support bracket with the nut.

        Torque:
        5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    3. for Type C:

      Install the electric parking brake actuator cap with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR


    1. for Type B, C:

      Install the parking brake cable heat insulator with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER


    1. Install the No. 1 floor under cover with the 4 clips and 6 nuts.

  8. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. for Type A, B:

        Attach the electric parking brake actuator harness grommet.

      2. Connect the harness clamps.

      3. Connect the connector.

      4. Install the parking brake plunger protector with the bolt.

        Torque:
        8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. for Type C:

        Attach the electric parking brake actuator harness grommet.

      2. Connect the 2 harness clamps.

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  10. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

    Click here

    Note

    If the parking brake shoe clearance is not adjusted, the cable end may be damaged.

  11. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

  13. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

  15. PERFORM PARKING BRAKE SHOE BEDDING
