VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Connecting terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3 causes the ECU to display the DTC by blinking the ABS warning light and slip indicator light.

Tech Tips

When the warning lights continue to blink, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in one or more ECUs is suspected.

  1. INSPECT DLC3

      Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      N20-13 (TC) - N20-4 (CG) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (for LHD: Click here, for RHD: Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC of DLC3 - ECM)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the A21 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N20-13 (TC) - A21-21 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      N20-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND)

  5. CHECK ECM (TC of DLC3 INPUT)

      Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    5. Check that the MIL is blinking.
