DESCRIPTION

If the auto up/down function does not operate, the cause may be one or more of the following:

  • If the power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system Click here.

  • If the power window regulator motor assembly and door window regulator sub-assembly have been removed and installed, or if the power window regulator motor assembly was reused when a door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (RL DOOR P/W AUTO SW)


    1. Use the Data List to check if the rear power window regulator switch is functioning properly Click here.

      ON: Rear power window LH auto up/down switch operated

      On GTS screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

  2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly Click here.

    2. Check that the rear LH side door power window moves when the auto up and down functions of the rear power window regulator switch assembly LH are operated Click here.

      OK
      Rear LH side auto up and down functions are normal.

  3. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly LH Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Auto up/down operation Below 1 Ω
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - REAR POWER WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the R14 rear power window regulator switch assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the R9 rear power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R14-4 (AUTO) - R9-4 (AUTO) Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      R14-4 (AUTO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
