COMPRESSOR (for AWD) INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

      Inspect the resistance of the lock sensor.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester connection Condition Specified condition
        2 (SSR+) - 5 (SSR-) Always 400 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.

      Inspect the resistance of the solenoid.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester connection Condition Specified condition
        3 (SOL+) - 6 (SOL-) 20°C (68°F) 10.1 to 11.1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.

      Inspect the resistance of the magnet clutch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Tester connection Specified condition
        1 (MG+) - Body Earth 5.12 to 5.16 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.

      Inspect the operation of the magnet clutch.


      1. Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal 1 (MG+) of the connector and the negative (-) lead to the body earth and check that an operating noise can be heard and that the magnet clutch hub and rotor lock.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooler compressor assembly.
