REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY
DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the ATF.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY
Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.
Note
Be sure to use SST with the tapered surface facing the shaft.
Do not grind the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.
Completely loosen the staked part of the lock nut when removing it.
Do not damage the threads of the shaft.
Tech Tips
Move the shift lever to P.
Attach SST.

Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, remove the lock nut.
Remove SST.
Tap the output automatic transmission flange yoke assembly with a plastic-faced hammer to remove it.

Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
Using SST, remove the automatic transmission extension housing oil seal.
INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
Coat the lip of a new automatic transmission extension housing oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a hammer, drive in the automatic transmission extension housing oil seal l with the lip facing inside of the automatic transmission assembly.

INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY
Using SST and a hammer, drive in a new oil seal.

Install the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

Attach SST.
Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, install and tighten a new lock nut.
Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the lock nut.
