COOLING FAN MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.

    2. for 160W+100W Type:

        (Cooling Fan Motor)

        Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

      2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Current
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 11.5 to 17.5 A

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

    3. for 200W+200W Type:

        (Cooling Fan Motor)

        Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

      2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Current
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 13.0 to 19.0 A

        If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

    4. Connect the connector.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

    2. for 160W+100W Type:

        (No. 2 Cooling Fan Motor)

        Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

      2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Current
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 4.5 to 10.5 A

        If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

    3. for 200W+200W Type:

        Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

      2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Current

        2 (+) 20°C (68°F) 13.0 to 19.0 A

        If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

    4. Connect the connector.
