FUEL PUMP INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT FUEL WITH FILTER PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the resistance of the fuel with filter pump assembly.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 0.2 to 3.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel with filter pump assembly.

    2. Inspect the operation of the fuel with filter pump assembly.

        Component without harness connected

        (Fuel Pump)

        Connect a battery's negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the connector, and a positive (+) lead to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel with filter pump assembly.

        Note


        • This test must be performed within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.

        • Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.

        • Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not the fuel pump side.
