VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1225, C1468, C1469, C146A, C146B

DTC Code DTC Name
C1225 SM Solenoid Circuit
C1468 SFR Solenoid Circuit
C1469 SFL Solenoid Circuit
C146A SRR Solenoid Circuit
C146B SRL Solenoid Circuit

DESCRIPTION

These solenoids turn on when signals are received from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) and they control the pressure acting on the wheel cylinders to control the braking force.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1225

Any of the following is detected:

  1. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) is ON, overcurrent continues for 0.1 seconds or more.

  2. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) is OFF, an open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  3. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) is ON, an open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  4. While master cylinder cut solenoid (SM1 or SM2) is OFF, current continues to be applied for 0.05 seconds or more.

  5. A difference in the output precision of master cylinder cut solenoids SM1 and SM2 continues for 0.2 seconds or more.

Any of the following is detected:

  1. An open or short circuit in the pressure reduction solenoid occurs for 0.05 seconds or more.

  2. An open circuit occurs for 0.05 seconds or more while the pressure holding solenoid is OFF.

  3. The pressure holding solenoid is powered for 0.05 seconds or more while the pressure holding solenoid is OFF.

  4. Overcurrent occurs for 0.1 seconds or more while the pressure holding solenoid is ON.

  5. An open circuit occurs for 0.05 seconds or more while the pressure holding solenoid is ON.

  6. There is a difference in the output precision of the left and right pressure holding solenoids for 0.2 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration and store system information Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. RECONFIRM DTC

    Tech Tips

These codes are detected when a problem is determined in the brake actuator assembly.

The solenoid circuits are in the brake actuator assembly.

Therefore, solenoid circuit inspection and solenoid unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if any DTCs are output before replacing the brake actuator assembly.

    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 30 seconds or more.

    4. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      Tech Tips

      • If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) with the engine switch on (IG) and the stop light switch off, the ECU performs self diagnosis of the motor and solenoid circuits.

      • If the normal system code is output (no trouble codes are output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harness, and fuses of the brake actuator assembly. Make sure that no DTCs are output.

      • If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.

      • It is suspected that the DTCs were output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.
