PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE AWD) DISASSEMBLY

Note


  • When using a vise, place aluminum plates between the part and vise.

  • When using a vise, do not overtighten it.


  1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      Place matchmarks on both flanges.

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 4 washers and propeller shaft assembly.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY

      Using a chisel and hammer, release the staked part of the nut.

      Note

      Release the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the threads of the intermediate shaft may be damaged.

      Using SST to hold the universal joint flange, remove the nut and intermediate shaft washer.

      Put matchmarks on the intermediate shaft and universal joint flange.

      Using SST, remove the universal joint flange from the intermediate shaft.

      Note

      Apply grease to the threads and tip of the center bolt of SST before use.

    5. Remove the No. 1 center support bearing assembly and 2 center support bearing washers from the intermediate shaft.
