DESCRIPTION

The 4WD ECU assembly receives signals from each sensor to control clutch fluid pressure for limiting the center differential operation, which distributes torque according to the driving conditions.

  • When all of the following continues for 1 second or more:


    • IG1 terminal voltage is 9.5 V or more.

    • Operation command current for the linear solenoid (transfer control solenoid) is 3.5 A or more.

    • Open or short in the SLC+ or SLC- circuit continues for 1 second or more.

  • Transfer transmission wire

  • Harness or connector

  • Transfer control solenoid assembly

  • 4WD ECU assembly

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TRANSFER TRANSMISSION WIRE (TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY)

      (Transfer Transmission Wire)

      Disconnect the F49 transfer transmission wire connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (BSF) - 3 (SLC) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      1 (BSF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SLC) Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSFER TRANSMISSION WIRE - 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A33 4WD ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-13 (SLC+) - F49-1(BSF) Always Below 1 Ω
      A33-32 (SLC-) - F49-3(SLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A33-13 (SLC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A33-32 (SLC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F49-1 (BSF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F49-3 (SLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SLC+, SLC- CIRCUIT)

  3. INSPECT TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
