C1296/96 ABS Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If a malfunction in the speed sensor signal circuit occurs, the 4WD ECU assembly will output this DTC. When slip is detected based on signals sent from the 4 vehicle speed sensors, the 4WD ECU assembly controls torque distribution between front and rear wheels according to the amount of slip.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Drive the vehicle, accelerating to a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more and check if the speed sensor DTC (brake control system DTC) is output Click here.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (WHEEL SPEED)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Data List Click here.

    4. Check that the speed values detected at all four wheels displayed on the GTS are the same when driving the vehicle.

  3. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Drive the vehicle, accelerating to a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more and check if the same DTC is output.
