REAR BUMPER REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EWE1

      Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 nuts.

      Torque:
      61 N*m  { 622 kgf*cm, 45 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL WHEEL HOUSE REINFORCEMENT LH


    1. A01ETDT

      Engage the clip.

    2. Install the wheel house reinforcement LH with the screw and nut.

  3. INSTALL WHEEL HOUSE REINFORCEMENT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH


    1. A01EZ0V

      Engage the 6 claws.

    2. Install the rear bumper side retainer LH with the 3 screws.

      Torque:
      3.0 N*m  { 31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf }
  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL LOWER REAR BUMPER COVER


    1. Engage the 8 guides.

    2. Install the lower rear bumper cover to the rear bumper cover with the 8 outside moulding retainers.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainers.

      Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer to the rear bumper assembly.

      Note


      • Do not damage the rear bumper assembly with the protrusion when installing the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.

      • Securely install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer so that there are no gaps between the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer and surface of the rear bumper assembly.

      Tech Tips


      • When installing the retainer, align the cutout and protrusion as shown in the illustration.

      • This illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensors.


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor to the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.

      Note

      Push the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer from the outside of the rear bumper assembly when there is a gap between the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer and the rear bumper assembly surface. In this case, do not push on the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor.

  9. INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all ultrasonic sensor clips.


    1. Engage the 4 claws to install the ultrasonic sensor clip.

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all connectors.


    1. Connect the connector to install the No. 2 luggage room wire.

    2. Engage the clamp.

  11. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01EVMB

      Engage the guide.

    2. Install the reflex reflector assembly LH with the screw.

  12. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH


    1. Clean the rear bumper assembly.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new rear bumper pad LH.


      1. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad LH.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        Install the rear bumper pad LH as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Stick the rear bumper pad LH on the line marked on the rear bumper assembly.

  14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD RH


    1. Clean the rear bumper assembly.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new rear bumper pad RH.


      1. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad RH.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
