DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives signals indicating the height of the vehicle from the rear height control sensor sub-assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If either of the following is performed, initialization of the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) is necessary Click here.


  • Replacement of the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly).

  • Replacement or removal/installation of the rear height control sensor sub-assembly or work that changes the vehicle height such as replacement of suspension components.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B241A is not output.

    READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER Click here

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Data List.

    5. Read the display on the intelligent tester.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) - REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A35 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the O17 rear height control sensor sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A35-19 (SHRL) - O17-2 (SHRR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A35-19 (SHRL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
