DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling motor receives operation signals from the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly). The AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives signals indicating the operating conditions of the headlight leveling motor.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2417 or B2418 is not output.

    NG

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER Click here

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Active Test.

    5. Check that the leveling motors operate.

      Tech Tips

      DTC B2417 or B2418 is stored when the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives a signal indicating an abnormality from a headlight leveling motor. It is not possible to judge whether a headlight leveling motor is normal using an Active Test, because even if the motor operates normally during the Active Test, it may still output a signal indicating an abnormality.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
