FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:


  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)

  3. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for Manual Seat)

      Disconnect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. A01ETP8

      Disengage the fastener and separate the airbag wire harness.

    3. A01EVAA

      Disengage the claw and 3 clamps to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

  4. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (for Power Seat)


    1. A01ETH6

      Disconnect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. A01ESUG

      Disengage the fastener and separate the airbag wire harness.

    3. A01EV1G

      Disengage the claw and 3 clamps to disconnect the airbag wire harness.

    4. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. A01ETYS

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Disengage the clamp.

  5. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Manual Seat)


    1. A01ETC0

      Remove the 5 hog rings.

    2. A01EV36

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    3. A01ESWB

      Remove the 2 hog rings.

    4. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    5. A01EXIB

      Remove the nut and the 2 brackets.

    6. A01EVF9

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    7. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  6. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Power Seat)


    1. A01EYFA

      Remove the 5 hog rings.

    2. A01ETQN

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    3. A01ESWB

      Remove the 2 hog rings.

    4. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    5. A01EXF9

      Remove the nut and the 2 brackets.

    6. A01EVF9

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    7. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. A01EVAZ

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
