WIPER SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT FRONT WASHER OPERATION

      Component with harness connected

      (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

      for LHD:


      1. Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal I32-3 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal I31-4 (EW).

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals I32-3 (+1) and I31-4 (EW).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

      (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

      for RHD:


      1. Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal I32-2 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal I31-7 (EW).

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals I32-2 (+1) and I31-7 (EW).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the illustration.
