VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TRC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.

Pressing the VSC OFF switch (vehicle stability control switch) turns off TRC control and pressing and holding this switch turns off TRC and VSC controls. If TRC control is turned off, the TRC OFF indicator light will come on.

    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Click here.

  2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

  3. CHECK BATTERY


    1. Check the battery voltage.

  4. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Select the Data List using the intelligent tester Click here.

    4. Using the intelligent tester, check that the switch condition displayed on the intelligent tester changes according to VSC OFF switch (vehicle stability control switch) operation.

  5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Perform an Active Test of the combination meter assembly (meter CPU) using the intelligent tester Click here.

    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The TRC OFF indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Active Test operation.

  6. INSPECT VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SWITCH

      Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the VSC OFF switch (vehicle stability control switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      6 (+) - 3 (E) Switch pushed in Below 1 Ω
      6 (+) - 3 (E) Switch not pushed in 10 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-9 (CSW) - I176-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-9 (CSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I176-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
