SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts and No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  5. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and inlet air cleaner assembly.

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2 vacuum switching valve vacuum hoses.

    3. Disconnect the purge line hose from the 2 clamps.

    4. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

    5. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    6. Loosen the 2 bolts and separate the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      *1 Air Cleaner Hose Clamp

      Lock the air cleaner hose clamp as shown in the illustration, and disconnect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the throttle with motor body assembly.

    9. Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Loosen the nut, and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

      Loosen the nut, and remove the bolt and battery clamp.

    3. Remove the battery from the battery tray.

  9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY


    1. Remove the battery tray from the body.

  10. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NT

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the body.

    3. A01EUE3

      Disconnect the connector from the speed sensor NT.

    4. Remove the bolt and speed sensor NT from the automatic transaxle assembly.

      Note

      Two different types of bolt may be used to secure the sensor. If a precoated bolt has been used, replace it with a new one.

    5. Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor NT.

  11. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NC


    1. A01ESRQ

      Disconnect the connector from the speed sensor NC.

    2. Remove the bolt and speed sensor NC from the automatic transaxle assembly.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor NC.
