    Tech Tips


    • Using this test, it can be determined whether a problem is in an electrical circuit or if it is a mechanical problem in the transaxle.

    • If any abnormalities are found in the following test, the problem is in the transaxle itself.


    1. A01ET6DE01

      Turn the ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

      Tech Tips

      It is possible to deactivate the electrical shift control by disconnecting the transmission wire connector. The gears can then be changed mechanically with the shift lever.

    3. Drive with the transmission wire disconnected. Move the shift lever to each position to check whether the gear changes the table below.

      Standard:
      Shift Position Shifting Condition
      P Parking
      R Reverse
      N Neutral
      D No Shift (Gear will not change)
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.

    5. Connect the transmission wire connector.

    6. Clear DTCs Click here.

    Tech Tips

    When the transmission wire is disconnected, the transaxle gear will be set as listed below.

    Shift Lever Gear
    P Parking
    R Reverse
    N Neutral
    D 3rd
