DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
Note
Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.
Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug.
Remove the radiator cap sub-assembly.

Tech Tips
Collect the engine coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.
REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT
REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY
REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY
Using SST, remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.
REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the connector of the crankshaft position sensor.
Disconnect the wire of the crankshaft position sensor from the wire harness clamp brackets.

Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.
Using a screwdriver, pry between the engine water pump assembly and cylinder block, and then remove the engine water pump assembly.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Note
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the engine water pump assembly and cylinder block.
