CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE VALVE LIFTER

      Remove the 16 valve lifters from the cylinder head.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the valve lifters in the correct order.

  2. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

      Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 valve retainer locks.

      SST
      09202-70020   ( 09202-00010 )

    2. Remove the 8 valve retainers, compression springs and 8 intake valves.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  3. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

      Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 valve retainer locks.

    2. Remove the 8 valve retainers, compression springs and 8 exhaust valves.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  4. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL


    1. A01EUGDE01

      Using needle nose pliers, remove the 16 oil seals.

  5. REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT


    1. A01EX2YE01

      Using compressed air and a Magnet Hand, remove the 16 valve spring seats by blowing air onto them.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 STRAIGHT HEAD SCREW PLUG

      Using a 14 mm straight hexagon wrench, remove the 2 No. 1 straight head screw plugs and 2 gaskets.

      Note

      If water leaks from the straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.

  7. REMOVE STUD BOLT

  8. REMOVE RING PIN
