Tech Tips
The back door glass can be reused. If any clip of the back door glass is broken, use butyl tape to support the glass until the applied adhesive hardens when reinstalling the back door glass.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS

Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

Place matchmarks on the back door glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Matchmarks are not necessary if the back door glass is not going to be reused.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.

From the interior, insert piano wires between the vehicle body and back door glass, as shown in the illustration.
Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to all wire ends.
Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back door glass.
Note
When separating the back door glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
Using suction cups, disengage the 2 clips and remove the back door glass.
Note
Be careful not to drop the back door glass.
REMOVE BACK WINDOW OUTSIDE MOULDING
Using a scraper, remove the back window moulding and adhesive from the back door glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
Even if using a new back door glass, clean the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS ADHESIVE DAM
Using a scraper, remove the back window outside moulding and adhesive from the back door glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
Even if using a new back door glass, clean the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
REMOVE NO. 2 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER
Using a scraper, remove the back door glass No. 2 spacer from the back door glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
Even if using a new back door glass, clean the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
REMOVE NO. 1 BACK WINDOW GLASS SPACER
Using a scraper, remove the back door glass No. 1 spacer from the back door glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door glass.
Even if using a new back door glass, clean the back door glass with a non-residue solvent.
REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS SPACER
Using a scraper, remove the quarter window glass spacer from the back door panel sub-assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back door panel sub-assembly.
