PROCEDURE
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
Disengage the 9 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
Remove the clip.
Disengage the claw and remove the cowl side trim board LH.

Disengage the 5 claws and 2 guides, remove the front pillar garnish corner piece LH.

Note
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

Disengage the front pillar garnish clip and the clip.
Tech Tips
The front pillar garnish clip should be remained between the front pillar garnish LH and the pillar.

Using needle nose pliers, turn the front pillar garnish clip 90 degrees and disengage it from the front pillar garnish LH.
Note
Wrap the needle nose pliers with protective tape before use.
As a pillar garnish clip is reusable, do not remove it from the pillar as long as it is not damaged.
If the front pillar garnish is removed, replace it with a new one.
Disengage the guide and remove the front pillar garnish LH.

Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

Remove the deck board assembly.

Remove the rear deck floor box.
REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
Remove the back door weatherstrip.
REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER
Disengage the 4 clips and 4 claws.
Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear deck trim cover in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR REAR MAT (w/o Rear Deck Floor Box)
Disengage the 5 clips and remove the rear floor rear mat.
REMOVE LUGGAGE ROOM BOX SEPARATOR
Disengage the 7 clips.
Remove the 2 bolts.
Disengage the 2 guides and remove the luggage room box separator in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown in the illustration.
REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (w/o Rear Deck Floor Box)
Remove the 2 bolts.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the deck side trim box LH.
REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (w/o Rear Deck Floor Box)

REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY
Remove the bolt and the luggage hold belt striker assembly.

Using a screw driver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and guide, remove the reclining remote control bezel LH.

Remove the bolt.

Slide up the clip and detach the rear seat reclining control cable cap as shown in the illustration.
Remove the 3 screws.
Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 clips.
Disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.
Disconnect each connector. (for LH Side)
Remove the rear seat reclining control cable clamp.
Disengage the claw.
Disconnect the rear seat reclining control cable from the rear seat lock control lever sub-assembly in the order shown in the illustration.

Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws.
Note
Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.

Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.
Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.

Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the 3 clamps.
Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clips.
Disconnect the connector (for grass roof).
Using a clip remover, disengage the clamp (for grass roof).
Disengage the 15 hook-and loop fasteners (for grass roof).
Remove the roof headlining from the vehicle through the back door as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.
