ROOF SUNSHADE SYSTEM Roof Sunshade does not Move by Operating Roof Sunshade Switch

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof drive gear receives slide roof motor switch signals and drives its built-in motor.

Note


  • When the sliding roof drive gear assembly is reinstalled or replaced, the roof sunshade system must be initialized.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ROOF SUNSHADE OPERATION)


    1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the roof sunshade slides open/closed Click here.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SLIDE ROOF MOTOR SWITCH)

  3. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF MOTOR SWITCH


    1. Remove the slide roof motor switch Click here.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY - SLIDE ROOF MOTOR SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the a1 sliding roof drive gear assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L7 slide roof motor switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L7-1 (OPN) - a1-7 Always Below 1 Ω
      L7-2 (CLS) - a1-9 Always Below 1 Ω
      L7-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      a1-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L7-1 (OPN) or a1-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L7-2 (CLS) or a1-9 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
