LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD (for 1NZ-FE)


    1. Engage the 2 clips to install the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD (for 1NZ-FE)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.

  3. INSTALL SPARE SWITCH HOLE COVER


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the spare switch hole cover.

  4. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

    2. Install the <A> screw, 7 <B> bolts and 2 <C> bolts.

    3. Connect each connector and engage each clamp.

    4. Install the 2 clips.

    5. Engage the 2 claws to install the DLC3 connector.

  5. INSTALL ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 3 claws to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 1 instrument panel brace mounting bracket with the 2 <D> screws.

  8. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  9. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY (for CVT)

  11. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for CVT)

  12. INSTALL NO. 2 POWER OUTLET SOCKET COVER

  13. INSTALL POWER OUTLET SOCKET ASSEMBLY

  14. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL CENTER FINISH PANEL


    1. Engage the clamp to connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws and 6 guides to install the lower center instrument panel finish panel.

    3. Install the 2 <A> screws.

  15. INSTALL SHIFTING HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  16. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 4 clips and claw to install the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

  17. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  19. INSTALL AIRBAG CUT-OFF SWITCH (w/ Knee Airbag)

  20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL HOLE COVER (w/o Knee Airbag)


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the instrument panel hole cover.

  21. INSTALL PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for 1NZ-FE)

  22. INSTALL ENGINE SWITCH (w/ Entry and Start System)

  23. INSTALL SPARE SWITCH HOLE COVER (w/o Entry and Start System)


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the spare switch hole cover.

  24. INSTALL HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Combustion Type Power Heater)


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the heater switch assembly.

  25. INSTALL HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH (for Halogen Headlight)

  28. INSTALL NO. 2 LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for LHD)


    1. Engage the 3 clips and 3 guides to install the No. 2 lower instrument panel finish panel.

  29. INSTALL NO. 2 LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for RHD)


    1. Engage the 5 clips and guide to install the No. 2 lower instrument panel finish panel.

  30. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the claw to install the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

  31. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR CHECK CUSHION


    1. Install the 2 glove compartment door check cushions to the glove compartment door assembly.

  32. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A005HP3

      Horizontally engage the 2 hinges of the glove compartment door assembly.

      Note

      Make sure to install the glove compartment door assembly hinges horizontally.

    2. A005LWQE04

      Engage the 2 stoppers by pushing the sections <A> indicated by the arrows.

    3. Engage the claw and connect the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly to install the glove compartment door.

    1. Engage the clip and 7 claws to install the instrument panel under tray.

  36. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER TRAY (w/o Knee Airbag)


    1. Engage the 2 clips and 5 claws to install the instrument panel under tray.

  37. CONNECT AIR INLET DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

    1. Engage the guide and 3 claws to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  46. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the guide and 2 claws to install the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 2 <D> screws.

  47. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIO BRACKET (w/o Audio)


    1. Install the No. 1 radio bracket to the stereo opening cover with the 4 screws.

  48. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIO BRACKET (w/o Audio)


    1. Install the No. 2 radio bracket to the stereo opening cover with the 4 screws.

  49. INSTALL STEREO OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET (w/o Audio)


    1. Engage the clamp to connect the antenna connector.

    2. Install the stereo opening cover with bracket with the 4 screws.

  50. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  52. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

  53. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
