COMPRESSOR(for 1NZ-FE) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR FOR METALLIC SOUND

   
   

   1. Check if there are any abnormal metallic sounds from the compressor when the A/C switch is on and the compressor operates.

      If any abnormal metallic sound is heard, replace the compressor.

2. INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE

3. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT

   
   

   1. Using a halogen leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

      If there is any leakage, replace the compressor.

4. INSPECT COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY

   
   

   1. Check operation of compressor assembly with pulley.

      
      

      1. Start the engine.

      2. Inspect the compressor assembly with pulley.

         The compressor shaft rotates along with the pulley.

         If the result is not as specified, replace the compressor assembly with pulley.
