SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
If a seat belt is not fastened, this system flashes the seat belt warning light or sounds the seat belt warning buzzer as a reminder.
Driver side and front passenger side seat belt warning light (driver side seat belt warning function):
When the driver seat belt is not fastened with the ignition switch ON, the driver side and front passenger side seat belt warning light in the combination meter assembly blinks to inform the driver. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects the driver seat belt status and sends signals to the combination meter assembly using the CAN.
Driver side and front passenger side seat belt warning light (front passenger side seat belt warning function):
When the front passenger seat belt is not fastened with the ignition switch ON and the front passenger seat occupied, the driver side and front passenger side seat belt warning light in the combination meter assembly blinks. The combination meter assembly displays the front passenger seat belt status and whether the front passenger seat is occupied.
Rear seat belt warning light*:
When a rear door is opened and closed (the rear door courtesy light switch turns on and off) with the ignition switch ON, or when the ignition switch is turned from off to ON, the rear seat belt warning light in the telltale light assembly turns on to inform the driver of the rear seat belt condition. The combination meter assembly detects the rear seat belt status and sends signals to the telltale light assembly.

Seat belt warning buzzer*:
The seat belt warning buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds, and then the buzzer sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 90 seconds when the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12.5 mph) or more and any of the following conditions are met: 1) the driver seat belt is unfastened, 2) the front passenger seat belt is unfastened with the front passenger seat occupied, or 3) a rear door has been opened and closed and a rear seat belt is unfastened.

Seat belt warning buzzer*:
The seat belt warning buzzer in the combination meter sounds once, after an elapsed time of 30 seconds, the buzzer sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds and then sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 90 seconds when the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12.5 mph) or more and the driver and passenger seat belts are unfastened with the front passenger seat occupied.
