KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER SUPPORT (w/ Entry and Start System)

  4. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    3. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the locking button.

    4. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the airbag connector and remove the instrument panel wire.

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
