PROCEDURE
REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY CAP

Using a screwdriver, remove the generator pulley cap.
REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY
Mount the generator housing stay in a vise tightly.

Confirm SST (A) and (B) shown in the illustration.

Place the rotor shaft end into SST (A).

Fit SST (B) to the generator clutch pulley.

Loosen the pulley by turning SST (B) in the direction shown in the illustration.
Note
Check that the drive end frame is secured in the vise tightly.
Hold SST (A) tightly during the operation.
Remove the generator assembly from SST.
Remove the generator clutch pulley from the rotor shaft.
REMOVE GENERATOR REAR END COVER
Remove the 3 bolts and generator rear end cover.
REMOVE CLAMP
Remove the bolt and clamp.
REMOVE GENERATOR TERMINAL INSULATOR
Remove the generator terminal insulator from the generator coil assembly.
REMOVE GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 screws and generator brush holder assembly from the generator coil assembly.
REMOVE GENERATOR COIL ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 bolts.

Using SST, remove the generator coil assembly.
Remove the bearing cover packing.
REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY
Remove the generator rotor assembly.
INSPECT GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING
Check that the bearing is not rough or worn. If necessary, replace the generator drive end frame bearing.
REMOVE GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING
Remove the 4 screws and bearing retainer from the generator drive end frame assembly.
Using SST and a hammer, tap out the generator drive end frame bearing from the generator drive end frame assembly.
