NAVIGATION SYSTEM Microphone Circuit between Radio Receiver and Extension Module

DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends a microphone voice signal from the navigation ECU to the radio and display receiver assembly.

Using this circuit, the navigation ECU disables the microphone function of the radio and display receiver assembly to receive a microphone voice signal from the telephone microphone assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NAVIGATION ECU)


    1. Disconnect the T3 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the T4 navigation ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T3-5 (MIC+) - T4-16 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      T3-6 (MIC-) - T4-17 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      T3-1 (SGND) - T4-18 (SDNG) Always Below 1 Ω
      T3-5 (MIC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T3-6 (MIC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T3-1 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
