  • Use these procedures to troubleshoot the audio and visual system.

  • For vehicles equipped with an Extension Module, check the following contents for the radio and display assembly and the Extension Module. (Refer to optional equipment's manuals)

  • *: Use the intelligent tester.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE


    1. Measure the battery voltage with the ignition switch off.

      Standard Voltage
      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. BASIC INSPECTION


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Check whether or not the display appears on the display and audio and visual module display.

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*


    1. Use the intelligent tester to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

  5. CHECK FOR DTC*


    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Check for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output in the first step, try to force output of the audio and visual system DTCs by simulating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.

      Tech Tips


      • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs as the system stores past DTCs.

      • Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen as necessary.

      • Check and clear past diagnostic trouble codes. Check the diagnostic trouble code and inspect the area the code indicates.
