STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL LOWER BOSS COVER


    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the steering wheel lower boss cover.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

  3. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH WIRE (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)


    1. Connect the connector to the No. 1 switch wire and install the No. 2 switch wire.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch)


    1. Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

    3. Engage the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.

  6. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)


    1. w/o Shift Paddle Switch:


      1. Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the steering pad switch assembly.

      2. Install the 2 screws.

      3. Engage the clamp to the steering wheel assembly. (w/ telephone)

    2. w/ Shift Paddle Switch:


      1. Engage the 4 claws and 4 guides and install the steering pad switch assembly.

      2. Install the 2 screws.

      3. Connect the connector to the No. 1 switch wire.

      4. Engage the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.

  7. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the matchmarks and install the steering wheel assembly onto the steering column assembly.

    2. Install the nut.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect all the connectors to the spiral cable.

  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD

  10. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
