PARKING BRAKE CABLE(for Rear Drum Brake) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE KIT

  4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Lever Type Parking Brake)

  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for Pedal Type Parking Brake)

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Pedal Type Parking Brake)

      *1 Lock Nut
      *2 No. 2 Wire Adjusting Nut

      Remove the lock nut and No. 2 wire adjusting nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Remove the clip.

    3. Pull up the parking brake pedal claw and remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake pedal assembly.

  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER (for Pedal Type Parking Brake)

      *1 Lock Nut
      *2 No. 1 Wire Adjusting Nut

      Remove the lock nut and No. 1 wire adjusting nut.

    2. Remove the parking brake equalizer.

  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE INTERMEDIATE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Pedal Type Parking Brake)

      Remove the 2 bolts and parking brake intermediate lever sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove cable clamp A from the body.

    2. Break the cable clamp B to remove it.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts.

    4. A005KO4

      Remove the bolt and remove the parking brake cable from the backing plate.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
