FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING


    1. A005HX5

      Provisionally tighten a new nut through the front No. 2 suspension support.

    2. Install the front shock absorber with coil spring onto the steering knuckle.

    3. Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      164 N*m  { 1672 kgf*cm, 121 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Keep the bolt from rotating while loosening and removing the nuts.

  2. INSTALL FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Install the flexible hose and speed sensor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 300 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Install the flexible hose and speed sensor without twisting them.

  3. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the stabilizer link with the nut.

      Torque:
      74 N*m  { 755 kgf*cm, 55 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a socket hexagon wrench 6 to hold the stud.

  4. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  5. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING

      Using SST and socket hexagon wrench 6, fix the shock absorber rod and tighten the nut.

      with SST
      55 N*m  { 561 kgf*cm, 41 ft.*lbf }
      without SST
      48 N*m  { 485 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT DUST COVER

  7. INSTALL LOWER COWL TOP REINFORCEMENT INNER (for RHD)


    1. Install the lower cowl top reinforcement inner with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL COWL TOP INSIDE CORNER PANEL RH (for RHD)


    1. Install the cowl top inside corner panel RH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the 2 wire harness clamps.

  9. INSTALL COWL TOP INSIDE CORNER PANEL LH (for LHD)


    1. Install the cowl top inside corner panel LH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the 2 wire harness clamps.

  10. INSTALL COWL TOP REINFORCEMENT INNER (for LHD)


    1. Install the cowl top reinforcement inner with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH (for RHD)

  12. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL (for LHD)

  13. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  14. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
