PROCEDURE
REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP
One touch type:
Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and separate the boot clamp.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
Claw engagement type:
Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the boot clamp.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
REMOVE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP
One touch type:
Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and separate the boot clamp.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
Claw engagement type:
Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the boot clamp.

SEPARATE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT
Separate the inboard joint boot from the inboard joint.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE INBOARD JOINT ASSEMBLY
Remove the old grease from the inboard joint.

Place matchmarks on the inboard joint and outboard joint shaft.
Note
Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.
Remove the inboard joint from the outboard joint shaft.
Fix the outboard joint shaft in a vise between aluminum plates.
Note
Do not overtighten the vise.
Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.

Place matchmarks on the tripod joint and outboard joint shaft.
Note
Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.
Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the tripod joint.
Note
Do not tap the rollers.
Remove the front No. 2 axle inboard joint boot clamp, the inboard joint boot and the inboard joint boot clamp.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER CLAMP LH

Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the damper clamp and separate the damper clamp.
Claw engagement type:
Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the damper clamp.
Remove the front drive shaft damper from the front axle outboard joint shaft assembly.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER CLAMP RH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER LH
Remove the front drive shaft damper LH from the front drive outboard joint shaft assembly LH.
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER RH

Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and remove the boot clamp.

Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and remove the boot clamp.

Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring.

REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DUST COVER
Using SST and a press, remove the dust cover.
Note
Do not drop the inboard joint.
